Mount Whitney
If you’re into skiing 14ers and you’re in the Sierra’s, it’s natural to want to ski Mount Whitney.

When a small storm moved into the Sierras mid-week, bringing wintry conditions to the mountains, we took the opportunity to head back to Death Valley National Park knowing that it would be unseasonably cool.
Our trip to the Sierras started with a ski descent of the Northeast Couloir on Mount Langley, the southernmost 14er in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Our last stop on our Norway trip was to the Lyngen Alps, a peninsula packed with peaks a short distance north of Tromso. We had long heard of the region, it’s one of the more well-known locations in Northern Norway for climbing and skiing.
No one really knew what to expect when we made the drive north from the Lofoten Islands to Senja Island. It turns out the place is awesome!

Descending from Castor’s summit. The route started all the way out on the snowy plateau in the distance. With the race behind us, we made our way from Zinal to Zermatt where we would finally be able to make use of the 40 lb. duffel of climbing gear we had been carting around with us. (more…)
We ran the 2014 Sierre Zinal 31k race in Switzerland and put together a somewhat shaky video from out on the course.
