Starting the new year off right.
If snowfall is any measure, it was an outstanding holiday season here in Aspen. Nearly four feet of snow fell over the two week period, and the skiing was incredible.
Of course most of my days were spent inbounds at the ski areas with the holiday clients. But I was thankful to catch a great backcountry day– the first of 2015– with Christy and Joey. Conditions were awesome. Hopefully it’s just the beginning of a memorable season to come. Happy New Year.

We found a quiet spot with mellow terrain that allowed for several laps.

Stacking turns on the first lap.

Someone didn’t have a happy new year.

The second lap.

Joey always takes the GS option.

Third lap, Joey watches as Christy drops in.

We’ll take it.

No need to throw ourselves in aggressive terrain this early in the year.

After three laps we headed back to the truck, and even the ski out was fun.
