Front runners at he start of the Dirty 30. Colleen and I started a bit further back. [Christy here] With pretty incredible spring snow conditions continuing in Colorado, it has actually been hard to wrap up the skiing. However, this past weekend we finally started to transition into summer, splitting our weekend 50 – 50 between running and the Centennials project. (more…)
Next up on the ski list was Emerald Peak, 13,904 ft., another Colorado Centennial.
It was a great day skiing Ice Mountain and North Apostle.
Seven of us stood on the top of Vermillion Peak at 13,894 ft. feeling pretty lucky to have a chance to ski down the highest peak in San Juan County.
Teakettle Mountain located in the San Juan range is widely considered one of Colorado’s hardest Centennial Peaks.
After Mount Meeker, we were off to the Sawatch Range to ski Lackawanna Peak.

Last Friday morning, an email titled, “Welcome to the Caderettes” appeared in my inbox. Little did I know that a quick mention earlier in the week from our friend Rocky about participating in...
Morley McBride on the course. [Christy here]Wow. What a weekend. I would definitely recommend a trip out to Lake Tahoe for the Tahoe Rim Trail 50 mile run. Not knowing anything about this event before I signed up, I was blown away by the course, and the fun, summer lake scene only added to the weekend. Heading out to Lake Tahoe for a long weekend in the middle of July...
Making our way up the East Snowmass Creek Valley. [Christy here] It’s been a different kind of winter this year. Not bad, just different. The little snow we’ve received so far has left us with a pretty unstable snow pack, and not-so-desirable ski lines in the backcountry. We haven’t skied any of the peaks were thinking about earlier this fall, have yet to ski with some of our closest ski...
(Christy here) This weekend I had the honor of attending the 37th Annual Sportswomen of Colorado Awards Celebration. Prior to receiving a letter a few weeks back notifying me that I was the recipient of an award for Superior Performance in Ski Mountaineering, I was not familiar with the organization. Honored to be included, I headed to Denver, and along with my parents, attended the gala event. As it turned...
