We skied Dyer Mountain, 13,855 ft., for a third time, as part of the course of the Father Dyer Skimo Race in Leadville.
The 20th annual Elk Mountains Grand Traverse was this past weekend. It was the 15th time both Christy and I have completed this race, nine of which have been as a team.

In 2016 I finished Nolan’s 14 in 55:37 following the route north from Mt Shavano to Mt Massive, a near 100 mile course that climbs 14 14ers along the way.

Looking for a moderate distance trail run that gets you up into the high alpine? Do you prefer loops to out-and-backs, so that you don’t have to travel along the same trail in both directions?
Summing up the Hardrock 100 is always a challenge, though when it goes well it’s admittedly easier. This year, my 8th time running, was relatively smooth. I finished in 28:52, my 3rd fastest time, which was good enough for 7th place overall.
