Route: Box Creek Cirque

In late spring of 2011, Sean Shean and I skied the Box Creek Cirque on Mount Elbert. This was my final ski day of the 2011 spring season and the second time I had skied Mount Elbert. By this late in the season, the summer trail is mostly dry. We hiked the route from the South Elbert trailhead in our running shoes and put our boots and skis on once we got to the summit. It was a fun ski, and once back at the dry trail, we switched back to sneakers and hiked back to the truck.
