I pulled out the GoPro last weekend while mountain biking in Fruita. Here’s a little clip I put together from a ride with Philip, Troy and Wheaton, down the 18 Road luge-course known as the Kessel Run.
It’s set to music from the Boulder-based band The Amends. Their first, self-titled album was released earlier this summer and is definitely worth checking out.

The short answer is yes, I like it. It’s a great, little, affordable camera.
It’s not perfect though. It’s so simplified it’s hard to tell if it recorded, or if there’s room left on the memory card, little stuff digital cameras have all trained us to appreciate. Also, it’s great that it’s in a waterproof case, but it makes for poor audio. I end up editing it to music in iMovie.
On the plus side, there are loads of mounting options, so you don’t have to be that guy with a thing on his head looking like a Tele-Tubby on the ski hill, the battery is rechargeable and the resolution(for the HD) is really, really good.
It’s a great gift, I say you get it.
