A message after skiing all the Colorado 14ers back in 2010.
With a ski descent of Capitol Peak in May 2010, Christy had succeeded in being the first woman to climb and ski all of Colorado’s 14ers.
Skiing the Hourglass Couloir on the 14er Little Bear Peak in 2008.
A convoluted summit ski descent of Mount Wilson in 2010.
From the notch in the distance, it’s easier terrain to the summit. Route: North Face Team: Christy, Ted Christy and I came here earlier this season (March) but found the snow to be pretty unstable, so we turned around and went home. After a recent spring storm blew through the state, we decided to give the El Diente – Mount Wilson pair another look. We made it a good way...
Christy in the Y Couloir. Route: Crags CG/summit/Y couloir/summit/Crags CG Team: Christy, Ted Christy wanted this one done, and she didn’t want to wait. We had been unlucky in a couple of earlier attempts to get up the Pikes Peak Highway to ski the Y Couloir. The road closes regularly in the fickle spring weather. So as it was looking like she might be able to finish all 54 ski...

With plans to be away in the Utah desert for most of next week I thought I’d share some pics from a quick little tour Christy and did up in Ashcroft Sunday. A huge storm blew threw Colorado just before the weekend dumping some twenty inches of snow on the mountains and bringing us back into...
After climbing the couloir from Como Lake, Christy starts along the ridge towards the base of the couloir. Route: Southwest Face/Hourglass Couloir Team: Ted, Christy After a huge drive from Aspen to Alamosa the long way (without Indy Pass), we opted to crash in a hotel. The next day was going to be long, so some better rest than we’d likely get in the back of the truck would be...
A close up of the Aspen area form the summit. Not only are Pyramid and the Bells looking large, but Aspen Highlands can be seen in a unique perspective. Route: North Ridge Team: Ted, Christy, Dirk Bockelmann Trying to keep the momentum going, we headed down to Holy Cross. The three of us headed up the road on snowmobile, all the way to the Halfmoon Pass summer trailhead. Earlier we...
