Route: North Face Couloir
Team: Ted, Dirk Bockelmann
You can have a great day in Montezuma Basin in October. Dirk and I were headed out on a climbing trip to Ecuador in a week or so we wanted some time up high. A bluebird day with easy skiing snow awaited us.
After skiing a lap in the upper bowl, we retraced our steps up, all the way to the Castle/Conundrum saddle, to the summit of Castle Peak. From there we skied down the North Couloir.
Montezuma Basin doesn’t get much better than this.
