If you’re in Vail next week for opening day, come by The Sebastian afterwards for Christy’s slideshow. It’s going to be fun. Tickets benefit the Youth Foundation of Vail.
See you all there.

A great climb and ski of the Southeast Couloir on the Crestone Needle.
With the ramp finished, a pole touch from the benchmark,[...]
A very early winter ski descent of the OB Couloir on Kit Carson with Chris Davenport.
Hey Ted,
I sent this to a slew of Vail people, so hopefully some of them will show up. Nevertheless, I’m sure you guys will have a great turnout. I’m not sure of Kristine & myself will make it as we leave for North Carolina early the next morning, but would be fun to see the presentation and meet you guys.
Best,
Brandon
Thanks Brandon. We’d love to meet you both as well. Hopefully you can make it.
If not, some other time. We’re psyched to ski Vail opening day. Are we nuts? Is it going to be a zoo?
Either way.

We’ll try and make it, Ted. Be alot of fun for sure. Maybe just one cocktail as we likely need to drive to Denver later that night.
Honestly, I bet Vail won’t be too too bad on that Friday. Definitely more crowded than your neck of the woods, but not outrageous, hopefully. You guys will have fun. I didn’t get a pass this year, but I have friday afternoons off and may just skin up to the top of the gondola for a run down. Be fun to meet up.

We met in Aspen in 2000 and have been happily stuck in the rockies ever since, getting out in the mountains every day we can, in every season and by all means possible. Read More© 2026 · Stuck in the Rockies
