Route: Cameron Amphitheater
Team: Ted, Dwayne Stein
A month after my first day on Quandary, I rallied a partner for another peak. Dwayne was a friend from work. Back in 1999, split boards weren’t too common. He snowshoed to the summit with his snowboard on his back- not the most practical method, but it got the job done.
We drove to the Roberts Road trailhead outside of Alma and headed up between Mount Lincoln and Bross, following some old mine roads to the summit. As I recall, the weather wasn’t too good, particularly windy. I had a disposable camera, so we took some pictures and headed down the other side of the mountain, traversing down and over to the top of the expansive Cameron Amphitheater. The snow softened once out of the wind, and we had a pretty good run down and back to the car.
A week later, I headed to Democrat.
